Claiming the agency is currently operating at “full boil,” Publicis Montréal has appointed a new vice-president and general manager to prevent its momentum from evaporating.
Publicis Canada chairman and CEO Yves Gougoux announced today that Marc Gagnier (pictured, right) is joining the agency effective July 25. Gagnier was formerly VP of strategy and integration at Palm+Havas, where he was responsible for Volkswagen Group’s Canadian marketing efforts.
“[Gagnier’s] arrival will contribute to our unshakeable commitment to offer our clients the best creative and strategic tools for their growth,” said Gougoux in a release.
Gagnier, he added, boasts an “impeccable” career history that includes stops at major agencies and managing both national and international accounts “with brilliance and flair.”
Publicis CEO Andrew Bruce referred to Gagnier as an “artisan of advertising,” noting his “overwhelming enthusiasm” and passion for brands.
Prior to joining Palm+Havas, Gagnier spent 14 years with Cossette Communication-Marketing. His final role with the agency was as senior VP, convergence, working with brands including McDonald’s, Coca-Cola, Motorola and Home Depot. He also spent the early 1990s as an account director with JWT.
