Sid Lee is ramping up its employee roster to help tackle a growing list of clients, including new business from Samsung, The North Face, and VQA Ontario.
The internal changes include the promotion of Eve Remillard-Larose to managing partner of Sid Lee Toronto earlier this year, as well as a handful of recent hires from outside of the agency in roles such as assistant creative director, account director and head of production.
“I’m really excited about making sure we continue to expand, continue to create good creative product, all while maintaining our culture,” said Remillard-Larose, a 10-year veteran of the agency and founding member of the Toronto office.
“We’re trying to build a multi-disciplinary team and bring all of these different disciplines really close to each other. That will be part of my role and responsibility over the next few years,” she told Marketing.
Recent hires include Ryan Lawrence from Clemenger BBDO as associate creative director, Christina Festoso from Rethink as account director, Ryan Bourret from DDB Canada as head of production, Amanda Buchanan from Critical Mass as UX director, JJ Sullivan from The&Partnership as senior strategist, and Katherine Craig from Bruce Mau Design as account director.
“We tried to bring different types of people to increase the power of our team,” Remillard-Larose said.
In a release, she added the hires were brought on “to meet not only client needs, but the always-transforming nature of our industry. They will be integral to building out our full-scale capabilities as an agency.”
Remillard-Larose said the Samsung mandate is to handle its international social media, while both North Face and VQA include broader brand development and marketing strategies.
Sid Lee has more than 600 employees at its office worldwide including in Toronto, Montreal, New York, Paris and Amsterdam.
