Limited Man Advantage: RW&CO. Scores Subban

RW&CO gets suited up with P.K. Subban

NHL star and family star in fall campaign

RW&CO has signed some top hockey talent to promote its latest line of men’s suits.

Montreal Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban, along with his brothers Jordan (Vancouver Canucks defenseman) and Malcolm (goalie for the Boston Bruins), and their father Karl, are the new faces of RW&CO’s Men’s Fall 2015 Suiting Campaign.

The stylish family is featured in digital ads on YouTube, Google Display Network and Facebook, as well as broadcast banners on RDS, TSN and Sportsnet. Print images will be displayed in store.

“Suiting is synonymous with power and prestige, and P.K. really embodies these qualities,” said Rita McAdam, VP of marketing and visual presentation for RW&CO, which is owned by Reitmans. “He and his family are very dapper, and they’re quite bold and quite sophisticated in their styling. We felt that would really appeal to our customers.”

The fall suit collection will be available in stores and online starting Sept. 14. The 12-suit collection comes in shades of teal, grey, burgundy and neutrals, with prices ranging from $298 to $448.

RW&CO sells both men’s and women’s clothing, and McAdam said men’s “is accelerating as a percentage of the business.” This year, the retailer saw an opportunity to focus more on its dressier men’s wear.

“We did research right across the country and we found that men are looking more to dressing up and finding more occasions to look their best,” said McAdam. “We worked with our product people and really honed our product line into dressier products and we’re hitting the sweet spot for the customer.”
