The Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA) is launching the next phase of its PR program on Sept. 25.

Temple Scott Associates, which OREA partnered with earlier this year, has created a campaign called “Are You Smarter Than An Ontario Realtor?” It will feature celebrity realtor and HGTV star Sandra Rinomato.

Jennifer Rideout, a partner
at Temple Scott Associates, couldn’t reveal specific details ahead of the launch, but said, “we’re going to have some fun with [Rinomato]. She lends herself to that. And the thing about Sandra is she really is committed to the professionalism about the industry that she’s in, so she was a natural choice for OREA.”

The program – and others that are coming up later this year – will drive people to the microsite WeDoTheHomework.ca.

The PR efforts complement OREA’s latest ad campaign, which aims to show both the work realtors do for home buyers and sellers, and the education it takes to become an OREA realtor.

This past spring, Temple Scott Associates developed a province-wide media relations tour to advocate the need for a province-wide marijuana grow-op list, so consumers can know whether or not a property was ever a grow-op or meth lab.

“By focusing on that and getting communities talking about that and starting a conversation, it demonstrates that realtors really have a deep understanding and an interest in things that affect Ontario home buyers and sellers,” said Rideout.
