Extreme CCO’s artwork ends Hockey Night in Canada homage

Last week Shawn King, president and chief creative officer of Extreme Group in Halifax, created this tribute to Stompin’ Tom Connors, who, as you already know, passed away on March 6. The image spread through social channels as most simple and beautiful images tend to do these days, but it also turned up on CBC‘s Hockey Night in Canada on March 9 as part of the show’s own tribute to the troubadour from Saint John, N.B.

At the end of the homage (embedded below), the image serves as a background to Connors’ quotation: “I must now pass the torch, to all of you, to help keep the Maple Leaf flying high.”
