Sid Lee has made changes to its Toronto creative team, promoting Tom Koukodimos and Jeffrey DaSilva to executive creative directors, with joint responsibility for the office’s creative product.
Koukodimos and DaSilva have served as CDs since joining Sid Lee in 2012 and 2013 respectively.
They are replacing outgoing ECD Dave Roberts, who has spent the past four years building the agency’s creative department. Roberts is returning to Sid Lee’s Montreal office, where he will assume responsibility for an undisclosed global assignment.
Prior to joining Sid Lee, Koukodimos was creative director at Cossette, working on the McDonald’s business. DaSilva returned to Canada from Boston agency Mullen, where he was VP creative director on Google.
Both men have enjoyed international recognition at several high-profile awards shows, including Cannes Lions, One Show, D&AD and ADC.
Vito Piazza, president and partner, Sid Lee Toronto and Calgary, said that the move comes in response to the positive creative and business momentum the agency has enjoyed over the past year.
“Over the last 12 months, Tom and Jeff have consistently shown they can develop world-class work and build an exceptional Sid Lee creative culture,” said Piazza in a release. “As we continue to grow and expand, Tom and Jeff share our vision of what it takes to transform and elevate our clients’ businesses.”
The creative tandem has had a hand in some of Sid Lee’s most recognized recent work, including the Toronto Raptors’ “We The North” and Toronto F.C.’s “It’s a bloody big deal.” They also played a role in brand and packaging design for organic food company Blue Goose.
The two men will oversee all of Sid Lee’s Toronto accounts, which include Marks, Sport Chek, PC Financial, TJX Canada, Coca Cola Canada, Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, Postmedia, Google Canada, BurnBrae, Weston Bakeries and Mondelez.
