Sleeman Breweries has chosen Tam-Tam/TBWA as its Quebec agency of record, handing it duties on its Sleeman, Unibroue and Sapporo labels without a review.

The agency reports to Stéphane Duval, regional vice-president for Sleeman Quebec, who was not immediately available for comment.

“A natural rapport was built with the agency’s entire team,” said Duval, in a statement. “They quickly grasped our company’s culture and showed a profound understanding of the issues we face.”

Tam-Tam is in early strategy discussions with Sleeman, so no firm time line for campaigns has been established.

This will mark the first time the agency has worked on any Sleeman brand.

Sleeman brews several beers under its own brand. In 2004 in acquired the Unibroue microbrewery, which owns the Blanche de Chambly and La Fin du Monde label. Following Sleeman’s acquisition by Sapporo in 2006, it began selling the Japanese brand as well.

Sleeman works with Toronto agency Dentsu for its English-language marketing.
