Sport Chek has teamed up with some Winter Olympians to help Canadian joggers move their workout from the gym to the pavement as the weather gets better.

As part of a national PR tour, the retailer has partnered with Charles Hamelin, Kaillie Humphries and Meaghan Mikkelson, who will share training advice and tips with Canadians eager to start a new spring season of running outside.

The Olympians will also make recommendations about new products as part of the tour. A recent consumer survey commissioned by Sport Chek shows that more than two-thirds of Canadian runners are looking to buy new running gear this spring, with running shoes topping their shopping list.

The survey, which polled Canadian running enthusiasts across the country about their fitness habits over the winter and into the spring, also shows that 91% of Canadians are motivated to get active this spring through various activities. Almost half of the respondents said they were kept indoors this winter—and not active—because of the intense weather conditions.

Beyond showing that Canadian joggers are itching to get back to jogging outside, the survey also showed that 22% of women and 19% of men were inspired to be more active this spring because of the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi.

To do so and beat their personal best running times (something more than half of Canadians want to do this spring, according to the survey), they’ll need the best gear, said women’s bobsledder Humphries in the release. “As Canada’s largest and most trusted sporting goods retailer, Sport Chek has everything runners and active Canadians need to find their ‘better’ – from running shoes and high performance apparel, to accessories and wearable training electronics,” she said.

Ipsos Reid conducted the “Spring Running Study” for Sport Chek in March as part of its eNation Canada Omnibus, a daily online survey of 1,000 Canadians with full national representation.
