Target Marketing & Communications has zeroed-in on new talent for its St. John’s, Nfld. offices.

Christa Steeves joined the agency as account group director and will oversee management for the majority of the shop’s clients, including Irving Oil and Capital G Bank.

Ernie Brake also joined as senior account manager on the Newfoundland and Labrador Tourism account.

Both Newfoundland natives arrived in January from Extreme Group in Halifax where they held similar titles. Steeves oversaw work on the Research in Motion and Atlantic Lottery accounts at Extreme while Brake’s primary client was Bell Aliant.

“Our mandate has always been to hire people who are very smart and very nice,” said Noel O’Dea, Target president, in a statement. “We’re excited to welcome Ernie and Christa to Target at the beginning of a promising new year, as we continue to prove the best ideas can come from anywhere, be it New York, London, or Newfoundland.”
