Tara Steinberg has joined Vancouver-based Pound & Grain Digital as managing director and partner.

Steinberg was director of production at Cossette’s Fjord West for three years and then moved over to director of operations at Dare North America when the agency changed its structure in November 2010.

Pound & Grain was founded by Jackson Murphy and Graham MacInnes. The two partners and creative directors worked at Cossette previously (Murphy as associate creative director and MacInnes and senior art director) before launching their own digital shop about a year ago. The agency now has a head count of 10 and a client base that includes Pacific Carbon Trust, Sterling Shoes and BC Hydro.

“Jackson and Graham are one of the most talented creative teams that I have had the opportunity to work with in my career,” said Steinberg. “I think the local market really has an appetite for an agency like Pound & Grain – something that’s small and agile and innovative and really has a targeted expertise.”

“We wanted to start our own shop and focus on digital – whether it was iPhone applications or Facebook applications or building websites,” said Murphy. “We have the talent to do non digital things whether that’s a print ad or television commercial, but we prefer to do things that live on the web or mobile devices.”
