Suzuki announces Leo Burnett as agency of record

Suzuki Canada has chosen Leo Burnett as its creative agency of record, following a review.

Suzuki Canada has chosen Leo Burnett as its creative agency of record, following a review.

The RFP called for written submissions, which was followed by two meetings where the Toronto-based agency presented case studies and “thoughts on the [Suzuki] business,” said Judy John, chief creative officer and soon-to-be CEO.

“In terms of a pitch it was a pretty easy and painless process and gave us an opportunity to get to know them and for them to know us,” she said.

Leo Burnett replaces incumbent John St., who took home a Marketing Award for its work on Suzuki’s “Whatever It Takes” television campaign in 2008.

In addition to Suzuki Canada, Leo Burnett recently won the TransCanada Corporation and FlightNetwork.com accounts at the end of 2010.

“It was a great way to kick off the New Year,” said John.
