Tag joins forces with 2Social

Partnership rounds out agency's growing content practice

Toronto-based marketing communications agency Tag has formed a strategic partnership with social media agency 2Social. The move will allow Tag to expand its social media strategy and management offering.

Over the past 12 months, Tag has been developing its content practice, which includes PR and social media. The agency hired two PR specialists earlier this year: Emily Ward, director of content strategy, and PR consultant Jess Hunichen. The partnership with 2Social “rounds out our offering on the social side,” said Matt Orlando, CEO of Tag.

“You can grow a practice by hiring the right people [in house], or — through mergers, acquisitions or strategic partnerships — bring in teams that are highly specialized in a certain field and really make them part of your agency,” said Orlando. “And that’s exactly what we did with 2Social.”

2Social will continue to operate out of its Toronto office, but will spend one to two days a week at Tag. “They’ll manage all of our clients, from strategy to ongoing content development to management to reporting,” said Orlando.

“The partnership also allows us to grow and scale up that much quicker,” he added.

Steve Dolson and Lauren Shirreffs  founded 2Social  in 2013.
