TD Bank Group is bringing music fans and artists together ahead of this year’s Juno Awards, which air live on March 30.

TD returns as national sponsor of the Junos and presenting sponsor of the Juno Fan Choice Award. New this year, the financial company will host the TD Music Green Room on March 28 and 29.

Situated in The Fairmont Winnipeg hotel, the Green Room will give invitees the chance to meet to-be-announced artists and listen to special acoustic performances. Winnipeggers have the chance to score an invite through a contest on local radio station Energy 106.

“The idea was to create an experience where fans can relax, have fun and meet and interact with the talent that’s going to be in Winnipeg,” said Chris Stamper, senior VP, corporate marketing at TD Bank Group. “We thought it was the best of both worlds: bring the musicians together with their fans in a way that makes music accessible for everybody.”

The Green Room will feature a social media-enabled photo booth that allows people to take pictures and share them in real time. TD’s social media team will capture moments of what’s happening in the Green Room and share them through Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Fans across the country can see the highlights and join the Twitter conversation by following @TD_Canada and #TDMusic.

Stamper said the Green Room is a great fit with the TD brand. “Green is TD,” he said, adding that the Green Room will be brought to life with TD branding and the comfortable green chairs that are part of the bank’s marketing platform.

TD Bank has supported music and artists for the past 10 years. In addition to being the official bank of the Juno awards, TD is a key supporter of the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences and MusiCounts, a music education charity that gives underprivileged kids access to music and instruments.
