The CMA elects TD’s Chris Stamper as new board chair

And, as one group of members complete its term, another steps in

Chris Stamper has been named board chair for the Canadian Marketing Association (CMA) for its 2016 to 2017 term.

Stamper, senior vice-president of corporate marketing, community and environment at TD, is taking over for LoyaltyOne president and CEO Bryan Pearson. Stamper was elected during the CMA’s annual general meeting on May 26.

Stamper has been with TD for more than 25 years, serving in a variety of marketing roles. He has been a CMA board member since 2011.

Stamper is one of several CMA board members to take on new positions as the organization transitions into a new term. Walmart Canada CMO Sandra Sanderson was selected as vice-chair of the board on May 28, while Cundari CEO and chairmain Aldo Cundari was named secretary and treasurer.

As those members took on new roles, Fuse Marketing president Stephen Brown, Fletcher Weir Consulting partner Lynn Fletcher and Queen’s University professor of marketing Ken Wong completed their terms.

The CMA also added three new members to its board of directors: Cineplex vice-president of marketing Peter Furnish, Environics Analytics president Jan Kestle and Kruger Products vice-president of corporate marketing Nancy Marcus.

In a statement, CMA president and CEO Doug Brooks said, “Some of the most influential and talented marketers in the industry are on the board of directors. This year’s additions are no exception.”
