Thinkbox lands in Winnipeg

Experiential agency Thinkbox National Marketing has expanded its national footprint with the launch of an office in Winnipeg.

Experiential agency Thinkbox National Marketing has expanded its national footprint with the launch of an office in Winnipeg.

The opening of a Winnipeg location was timed to coincide with the launch of Metro‘s free daily newspaper – a Thinkbox client – in the Manitoba capital. The agency’s street teams will hit the streets to distribute Metro on its launch day, April 4.

Emily Psimoulis, founder of Thinkbox, said the move was spurred by a desire on the part of clients and the agency itself to access the Manitoba market.

“In order to be truly national, we don’t outsource at all. I find that jeopardizes quality,” said Psimoulis. “We needed to be in Winnipeg because we had clients asking us to activate in Winnipeg.”

Psimoulis said the Winnipeg office would be managed by Sean Mawdsley, formerly of experiential agency Mosaic. She added that additional hires would come from the Winnipeg area.

“I believe in each market we’re in, we need to hire local talent. I feel strongly about that,” said Psimoulis.

The new location joins a Thinkbox network that includes offices in Halifax, Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver.

Thinkbox was founded five years ago and employs 30 staff across its network. The agency conceives, implements and manages both street-level campaigns and brand activation campaigns.
