The submissions website for the 2009 Marketing Awards is up and running now at TheMarketingAwards.ca. Anyone hoping to take home one of Canada’s most-prized creative honours has until Feb. 13 to submit their entries.
The Awards will be co-chaired this year by Frédéric Girard, senior art director, Sid Lee, and Patrick Scissons, vice-president, group creative director, BBDO Toronto. They are assembling the jury now, and it should be complete before Christmas. Stay tuned to Marketing Daily for the announcement.
Among the changes to Awards this year is the introduction of the “Excellence in Brand Creativity” category. This award will recognize the advertiser or brand that has demonstrated standout creativity, either through multiple campaigns or a single effort that extends beyond what is typically expected of advertising.
“To further elevate the calibre of Canadian work, it’s important for our industry to celebrate the fact that creativity and client satisfaction go hand in hand,” said Scissons, of the new category. “And show that great ideas can extend beyond advertising.”
The Marketing Awards honours the best advertising in the countryadvertising that is relevant, effective and memorableand demonstrates that world-class creative is being produced by agencies in Canada. Now in its 87th year, the Marketing Awards is produced by Marketing magazine and has been a juried competition for more than 40 years.
