After being the only North American agency invited to compete for the business, Victoria, B.C.’s Trapeze Communications won a pitch to design a website and online marketing campaign for Great Wine Capitals Global Network, an international wine organization based in Bordeaux, France. The fruits of that labour have now hit the market.

The large site (it has more than 600 pages of content) focuses on nine wine-related destinations and aims to “portray both the organization and the participating destinations in an upscale and attractive manner,” Fisher said.

“The GWCN project is a big win for us and we are excited about the doors that it opens up for us internationally,” Richard Fisher, partner and director of client services at Trapeze

The website GreatWineCapitals.com is a wine-lover’s bucket list of wine experiences and events around the world, Fisher said, and is aimed at the wine connoisseur – typically an older, upwardly mobile and upscale demographic.

Online marketing to drive traffic to the site includes advertising on WineSpectator.com and DrVino.com.
