Adrien Montpellier has been appointed technology director of Tribal Worldwide and DDB Canada.

Montpellier returns to Toronto after spending six months with Amazon in Seattle as the e-tailer’s senior technical program manager. He has also held positions at Lollipop, Twist Image, Elemental Corporation, Campus Compare and In-Touch Insight Systems.

According to a release, Montpellier’s mandate is to challenge the agency “to experiment with new technologies and prototype big ideas that are compelling, user-friendly and timely, to ensure our clients’ brands are moving at the speed of culture.”

“[Montpellier] offers a rare balance of deep technology expertise and passion for ideas that modern brands are seeking from their agencies today,” said Andrew McCartney, senior vice-president and managing director of Tribal Worldwide in Toronto.
