TwentyTen Group has been chosen as the strategic marketing and sponsorship agency of record for not-for-profit group KidSport.

The national children’s charity, which turns 20 this year, helps kids 18 and under pay for registration fees and sports equipment by providing grants. KidSport has 11 provincial/territorial and 177 community chapters, and has assisted more than 400,000 Canadian kids play organized sport.

With offices in Toronto and Vancouver, strategic marketing and sponsorship agency TwentyTen Group will be responsible for rolling out a corporate partnership strategy to bolster the not-for-profit’s Canada-wide activities.

TwentyTen Group will lead efforts to develop KidSport’s sponsors, and will also give strategic direction to its marketing and communications initiatives.

The two groups have partnered previously, and TwentyTen Group founder and managing partner Andrea Shaw (pictured) said in a release that they both support the idea that “involvement in organized sport has a very positive impact on the physical, social and behavioural development of our youth.” She added: “Building stronger communities by enabling our youth is a cause we believe corporate Canada wants to invest in.”

TwentyTen Group is AOR for groups including the Canada Games Council, the Canadian Olympic Committee and Whistler Blackcomb. The agency has recently been expanding its Toronto presence and would ideally like to start offices in Calgary and Montreal by next year.
