Vancouver-based marketing firm TwentyTen Group is putting its stakes deeper in the Toronto ground, with plans to potentially add two more Canadian offices by 2014.

The firm launched in Vancouver in June 2010 and set up a one-person satellite office in Toronto in November of that year. Now, with a Toronto staff of six (soon to be eight), the agency is moving to a bigger space in the city’s downtown core. TwentyTen Group founder Andrea Shaw said she plans to split her time between Toronto and Vancouver.  (The Vancouver office now has twelve employees.)

“Toronto is definitely our growth market,” said Shaw. “Toronto is where things are happening and budgets are held. I’ve always seen Toronto as an opportunity for the business.”

TwentyTen’s senior partner in Toronto, Brad Furtney, is already in the city, where most of the agency’s Intrawest work is handled.

“The corporate side is where I’m coming to open up the doors,” said Shaw. She added that “if everything goes as planned and discussions we’re having come to fruition,” TwentyTen will set up shop in Calgary and Montreal by 2014.

She also noted that while many agencies seem to be gravitating toward Toronto, TwentyTen’s Vancouver business has not slowed down. “We’re thriving,” she said, adding that her west coast office is expanding. “And we are acquiring new business.”
