C2-MTL, a new conference focused on how creativity can drive an organization’s strategic development, has appointed Twist Image as its social media agency.

The three-day conference hatched by Sid Lee takes place in Montreal May 22-25 and will cover a range of topics that include: creating an environment that stimulates the emergence of new ideas, breaking down interdepartmental barriers to spur creativity, and fostering idea-generation and risk-taking.

Mitch Joel, president of Twist Image, said he was immediately drawn to the event and the potential to “make Montreal a hub around this collision of commerce and creativity.”

It’s a subject that’s “not only near and dear to my own heart but the spirit and soul of what Twist Image is as well,” said Joel, who is also a guest speaker at the event.

Joel said a C2-MTL committee went through a formal review process when looking for agencies to partner with in different areas like social media.

“We thought it would be a really good opportunity. People know that we do social media but we’re actually a full service digital shop and social media is a mere component of a bigger sphere that we offer,” he said.

“Looking at the people who are playing in this – Fast Company and Cirque du Soliel – these were all obviously people we want to have our work in front of,” said Joel.

Twist Image, which has office in Montreal and Toronto, has done some preliminary work for a C2-MTL Facebook page, which already has 1,000 fans.

Sid Lee is working with Fast Company and Cirque du Soliel to develop content for C2-MTL that will include guest speakers Francis Ford Coppola, Michael Eisner and Arianna Huffington.

“Our partnership with Twist Image further validates our mission: to make Montreal a focal point for the global conversation about commerce and creativity,” said Jean-François Bouchard, CEO and senior partner of Sid Lee, in a release.

“We have tons of respect for Mitch and his partners and we’re honoured to have an agency like Twist Image working with us,” he said.
