UNICEF Canada has selected Venture Communications as its marketing agency of record to boost brand awareness in Canada.

Venture and four additional unnamed agencies were shortlisted after presenting credentials and meeting with Carolyn Solby, director of marketing, UNICEF Canada.

The agency then walked through case studies with a selection committee made up of UNICEF representatives from Ontario and Quebec, said Jennifer Coiffi, chief strategy office, Venture Communications.

“What we presented was a number of client projects,” said Coiffi. “We highlighted different aspects to illustrate what we understood [UNICEF’s] challenges to be.”

Venture is currently conducting preliminary research, with plans to launch a campaign in the fall, said Venture CEO Arlene Dickinson.

UNICEF Canada’s mandate is to build awareness of and raise funds for its programs and activities that focus on helping children in impoverished countries.

“We are thrilled to enter this partnership with Venture as we work to develop a strengthened position in our market and leverage Venture’s strategic and creative capabilities,” Solby, said in a release. “Today every donor dollar is critically important, and the more clearly we can educate Canadians on the effectiveness of our programs, the bigger the impact we can make.”
