Toronto-based Veritas Communications has opened a satellite office in Montreal.

“It’s just the right time for us to establish a formal presence [in Montreal],” said Krista Webster, president of the MDC-owned PR agency. “We have been working with national clients for some time and the more we do that, the more we feel it’s important to have that formal establishment.”

Webster said the move was not the result of any new client wins in Quebec. “We recently won Microsoft and [the move] was happening at the same time… but [the win] was certainly another reaffirmation that it was the right time,” said Webster.

For now, Webster will oversee the Montreal office in collaboration with Danielle Delaney and Martine Geoffrion, senior partners at DDMG Communications in Montreal. Delaney and Geoffrion will continue to run DDMG, while helping Webster set up a team and providing strategic oversight for the Veritas Montreal office.

“It’s based on my trust in working with Danielle for almost 15 years,” said Webster, who collaborated with Delaney on the P&G business at their past respective agencies. “I couldn’t imagine someone else who would be better at helping me to do this.”
