Two-minute tearjerker also drops subtle hints for Mother's Day gift ideas

Get the tissues ready. Just in time for Mother’s Day, Baltimore-based Pandora has released a two-minute tearjerker that aims to show women’s uniqueness and the special bond between mothers and their children.

Created by Grey New York, the video shows six blindfolded children, (not actors) who were tasked with picking out their mothers in a line. The kids, ages three to nine, touch the women’s hands, hair and faces, and even nuzzle. Each mom looks a little worried as she waits to see if her child will recognize her, which only adds to the emotion when they finally do. Naturally, hugs and tears ensue.

The spot, which subtly promotes Pandora’s Unique Collection, ends with the message: “All women are unique. Celebrate the one in your heart.” Viewers can click on the ad to “find a perfect gift for a unique woman in your life.” The spot doesn’t mention Mother’s Day, but viewers get the hint.

Just 10 days after being posted to YouTube, the video had more than 7.8 million views.
