Spotify moving day

Watch This: Spotify soundtrack for Americans moving to Canada

Streaming service's new ad plays off political tensions in the U.S.

It’s a threat Canadians have heard plenty times before. If Donald Trump becomes president, liberals in the U.S. say they’ll move up to Canada. Spotify is playing off that well-worn political trope with its latest ad by promoting a “Moving Day” playlist it crafted specifically for Americans fearful of a Trump presidency.

Marketing-wise, the ad falls in line with what we’ve seen from Spotify in Canada. When the service first launched here, its debut campaign showcased playlists inspired by neighbourhoods across the country.

Take a look.
