Public relations firm adds Hayes Steinberg plus three more to Toronto creative team

Weber Shandwick Canada has appointed industry veteran Hayes Steinberg as executive vice-president, executive creative director of its Toronto office.

Steinberg will partner with the firm’s 15-person creative team along with recent senior creative hire Robyn Adelson, executive vice-president, strategy and creative.

Steinberg has worked as a creative for nearly 20 years at a number of advertising agencies. Most recently, he was at Bensimon Byrne for six years as associate creative director. Prior to that, Steinberg worked at Grip, MacLaren McCann, Roche Macaulay & Partners, Young & Rubicam and Zig.

Weber Shandwick Canada has also made three other recent hires to its creative team:

  • David Akermanis, vice-president, planning, was a senior brand and experience planner at John St. He previously held digital and communications’ roles at Edelman, Cancer Care Ontario, Toronto Rehabilitation Institute and the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-term Care.
  • Cameron Wyllie, senior producer and editor, was most recently senior editor/post production supervisor at Studio M and writer/director of The D.J. Demers Show for AMI TV.
  • Leigh LePage, junior copywriter, was most recently at Rogers Communications and wrote internal, social and external communications copy to support employee engagement, sponsorship initiatives and consumer campaigns.

The creative team will work with Peter Matheson Gay, who was recently promoted to executive creative director, health for Weber Shandwick.
