Margot White has joined public relations firm Weber Shandwick as vice-president, Canada and office leader of its Vancouver branch.

“Weber Shandwick has a strong team of really talented people and access to resources,” said White. “We really do have a seamless interaction with our colleagues in all the different markets that we work in, and that’s what really attracted me to [the company].”

White was most recently director of policy development and communications for the College of Dental Surgeons of B.C. Prior to that she was part of the leadership team that launched Cossette’s Optimum Public Relations in Canada.

“Margot is a proven leader who is highly respected in the Vancouver market for strategic counsel that drives client success and a strong management style with flawless attention to program execution,” said Greg Power, Weber Shandwick’s Canadian president (who joined the agency last summer from Optimum). “She will be a great asset on our national leadership team and strengthen our client service platform in Western Canada.”

The office currently works with national clients such as Best Buy, McDonalds, General Motors and Rona. White said she will be looking to add B.C. businesses to that client list.
