Online job search company Workopolis has hired Montreal agency Tank to develop an advertising campaign targeted to the Quebec market.

Workopolis did not conduct a formal review for its Quebec work, instead relying on a recommendation from its national agency, Toronto’s Zulu Alpha Kilo.

Although Tank and Zulu Alpha Kilo will share ideas, Catherine Sicotte, group account director for Tank, said her agency would be responsible for developing original creative in Quebec.

Sicotte said Workopolis is looking to increase awareness among both businesses and consumers in the province.

“In Quebec there are a lot of free job sites that employers use, so one of their challenges is to put forward the added value of Workopolis for small businesses or medium-sized enterprises,” said Sicotte.

“Our biggest challenge right now is for people to see Workopolis as a site that specializes as well in the Quebec market. They’re seen as a big Canadian player but not so much on a local level.”

According to Sicotte, Tank’s first advertising campaign for Workopolis will launch this spring.
