Zulu Alpha Kilo has hired Cory Pelletier as director of innovation, a newly created position born from the Toronto agency’s desire to “push the limits of technology.”
Mike Sutton, Zulu’s managing director, said they were looking for someone who would “champion innovation” and “find more creative canvases in the digital or creative world.
“We need someone working with writers, designers and developers to ask ‘What can we do differently?’” said Sutton.
Pelletier, who has a strong background in media and digital, has worked at Starcom Mediavest, Excelerator/Mindhsare and OMD during his 15-year career.
He was most recently at Taxi where he served as director of digital strategy and creative media, handling all of the network’s social media projects in both Canada and the U.S.
“I have been watching [Zulu] closely over the past few years,” said Pelletier, who worked with Zulu’s creative director and president Zak Mroueh when Mroueh led Taxi’s creative department prior to founding Zulu in 2008.
“It’s a great structure and great clients for such a young agency,” he said.
Zulu also recently added creative director Sean Gannan to its roster. Gannan also has a strong background in digital having worked at Campfire in New York as well as Saatchi & Saatchi Australia.
