Junk removal service 1-800-Got-Junk? has partnered with The Beer Store for an Ontario promotion.
Beginning April 2, consumers who order the company’s services will receive a $20 gift certificate for The Beer Store.
The partnership represents a new direction for Vancouver-based 1-800-Got-Junk?, which in the past has relied primarily on guerrilla marketing tacticsparticularly the use of its trucks as moving advertisements.
“We’re using this as a pilot to develop our retail partnerships going forward,” says Steve Wallace, director of strategic alliances for 1-800-Got-Junk?.
According to Wallace, teaming up with The Beer Store makes sense because of its large and reliable base of male customersthe main target audience for Got-Junk’s service. “It’s basically the amount of foot traffic,” he says. “They have high numbers of our demographic coming into their stores on a recurring basis.”
1-800-Got-Junk? is a client of Toronto marketing firm Geyser Marketing Group, which connected the company to The Beer Store. Geyser president Ron Kunitzky believes his client will get strong return on investment from this promotional strategy.
“It’s a new, cost-effective customer acquisition tool for us and not as expensive as going out and doing a lot of traditional advertising,” he says.
The offer, which extends through August, will be promoted through in-store materials at The Beer Store’s locations in Ontario.
