Acklands-Grainger is an official supplier of Vancouver Games

The Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC) has announced Acklands-Grainger Inc. as the official supplier of industrial safety and material-handling equipment.

As part of the sponsorship, Acklands-Grainger will supply safety items like hard hats, safety vests, emergency blankets and traffic cones, along with welding equipment, industrial shelving and lockers, pallet jacks, platform trucks and hand trucks. This equipment will be used in the preparation and support of venue and logistical operations during the Games.

“The thousands of people behind the scenes making sure everything is ready and safely delivered for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games are the real unsung heroes,” Acklands-Grainger president Court Carruthers, said in a statement. “It’s our job to help keep them safe. …Our employees in Vancouver and across the country are committed to doing their part to help VANOC deliver a spectacular event that will make all Canadians proud.”

Acklands-Grainger joins 3M, Aquilini Investment Group, Birks, Britco, Canada Post, Canwest Publishing Inc., Dow Canada, General Mills, Hain Celestial Canada, Nortel, Purolator, Saputo, Sleep Country Canada, The Globe and Mail, Weston Bakeries, Workopolis and Wrigley Canada as official suppliers of the Winter Games.
