Aerial tapped to build profile of Toronto’s new steak house

Toronto public relations agency to oversee PR and social media around STK launch

The One Group has selected Aerial Communications Group as its public relations agency of record for the first Canadian location of its upscale STK steakhouse chain, which is scheduled to open in Toronto early this fall.

Aerial, which was selected following a competitive search and review, will oversee all public relations and social media efforts related to the launch of STK Toronto, as well as ongoing communications.

“Aerial Communications not only had the experience, but inherently understood our brand – it was a natural fit,” said Rob Corea, senior manager, global marketing and public relations at The One Group, in a statement. New York City-based The One Group is a global hospitality company that operates STK, Bagatelle and Asellina restaurants, to name a few.

STK has several locations in the U.S., Milan and Ibiza, with eight others on the way including the Toronto restaurant, which will be located in a condominium complex at the site of the former Four Seasons hotel in Yorkville. The main dining room of the 8,500 sq. ft. restaurant will seat 225 people.

STK describes itself as “not your daddy’s steakhouse” on its website. “We’re a modern, chic steakhouse for anyone who finds the traditional American steakhouse a tad on the boring side.”

The restaurant has a recommended dress code that suggests women “throw on a LBD (little black dress) and a pair of your favorite heels” and men “grab your blazer, throw it over a collared shirt and add the final touch with dress shoes.” Tank tops, flip-flops, swimwear, baseball caps and other forms of athletic apparel are not permitted.
