Agency Wars V announces its fight card

Twenty seven industry pugilists get ready to rumble in November

Agency Wars has announced which fighters will square off in the ring later this month for the fifth annual industry boxing fundraising event for NABS and Ronald McDonald House.

Here’s a look at this year’s fight card:

  • Amanda Dyke (Starcom MediaVest) vs. Ashley Chu (Mosaic Sales Solutions)
  • Anthony Luciano (The Blue Hive) vs. Bradley Howard (Starcom MediaVest)
  • Benjamin Nadler (Klick Health) vs. Alex Papadimitropoulos (Telus)
  • Cailyn Farquhar (Rogers Digital Media) vs. Jessica Biagioni (MEC Global)
  • Cindy Romero (Avid Life Media) vs. Jaime Lipowitz (Ideon Media)
  • Ford Shirriff (Pattison One Stop) vs. Mike Smith (BBC)
  • Luke Southern (L’Équipe L’Oréal) vs. Derek Silveira (JWT)

  • Vidas Kubilius (Zulu Alpha Kilo) vs. Sotero Bernardo (Ideon Media)
  • Elana Safonova (Ireland & Hall Communications) vs. Erika Casupanan (Media Profile)

Three alternates have also been named to step in for anyone who can’t compete in the big event: Michael Sinanan from Brian Metal Communications & Design, Cameron Lowe from The Blue Hive and Sean McConnell from Mediacom.

The final list of 27 boxers (which includes three alternates) was culled from more than 60 people from Canada’s marketing and media industries who took part in a two-week boxing bootcamp that tested their physical fitness.

“It truly is a lifestyle change for each fighter, committing to 12 weeks of intense training, pushing themselves to limits that challenge their body and mind,” said Michael Clancy, who founded Agency Wars when working as executive creative director at Brandworks International. He is now the owner of Clancy’s Boxing Academy and Michael Clancy Productions.

The red team captain, Mark Simmons, is a former Olympian and seven-time national team champion. His counterpart on the blue team, Mandy Bujold, recently won bronze at the Commonwealth Games in Scotland and is also a national team champion.

Last year’s Agency Wars raised more than $30,000 for its charities.

Marketing and Fight Network return as media partners for the event, which takes place Nov. 26 at Toronto’s Arcadian Court.
