Anna Olson dishes expert advice for Home Hardware

Celebrity chef helps homeowners

Home Hardware has launched its latest video with celebrity chef and spokesperson, Anna Olson. In the video, Olson provides tips on how to make school lunches easier with reusable containers.

The retailer, which celebrated its 50th anniversary last year, has partnered with Olson since 2008. She has appeared in numerous television spots and online videos, and also provides recipes for Home Hardware’s digital channels.

“The kitchen and housewares category has been a big part of our business right from the beginning,” said Rob Wallace, public relations manager at Home Hardware. “Recognizing that there’s a lot of competition in that category, we wanted to strengthen our presence in the category… We recognized that [Olson] has celebrity status, but we needed an expert who reinforced our commitment of expert advice.”

Over the years, Olson has been featured in numerous Home Hardware TV campaigns, promoting the retailer’s kitchen sale events and Exclusive to Home Kuraidori products.

The online videos appear on Home Hardware’s website and YouTube channel, while Olson’s recipes are featured on the website and promoted through social media. They’re also found in the retailer’s Home at Home magazine, produced four times a year.

While it might be a stretch for some people to associate Home Hardware with Vegetable Thai Curry Soup, Wallace said it goes back to Home Hardware’s reputation for helpful advice.

“The recipes not only provide healthy, nutritious and fun [meal options], but also product tips and suggestions,” he said. “We give customers great advice on how to use different products and time-saving ideas in the kitchen. We really want to be a destination to help customers with all of their entertaining and household needs.”

Home Hardware is currently airing a TV spot with Olson promoting Kuraidori drink chillers. The retailer works with Havas (creative agency), PHD (media buyer) and National (PR).
