Amazon app lets consumers purchase via a photo
Amazon’s app has a new feature that allows users to make purchases by taking a photo. For example, if a consumer took a photo of a bottle of Sriracha at a grocery store, the app would recognize the item and pull up a page letting the user click through to purchase and have a bottle delivered to their address. While other apps have used technology that can scan bar or QR codes, this feature, called Flow, recognizes colours and shapes.

Virgin Atlantic staffers check in fliers with Google Glass
Agents at Virgin Atlantic are about to go high tech as the air carrier is arming staff with both Google Glass and Sony smart watches at its terminal check-in stations. Virgin will test the wearable tech at London Heathrow Airport for six weeks before deciding whether to bring the gadgets elsewhere. Using the devices, staff will not only be able to pull up the flight details they had access to with their previous tech, but also weather, local events and a language translator tool.
