U.K. grocer experiments with iBeacons
U.K. grocer Waitrose is testing iBeacons in its newest concept store in a bid to improve the shopping experience. Waitrose is currently developing an app that will allow shoppers to receive personalized offers as they browse the store. The app will also allow shoppers to contact staff for assistance. The sales associate will receive a notification on his/her iPad letting them know which specific customer is waiting for assistance in addition to the shopper’s purchase history.

Google expands same-day delivery
Google Shopping Express, the company’s same-day delivery service, is expanding to L.A. and New York. The service, which partners with both local and big-name retailers for inventory, had previously been available only in San Francisco. The chief competition for the service is Amazon’s same-day delivery, which relies on third parties like FedEx.
