Is Miley Cyrus a PR genius?
One PR consultant and former PR Daily writer thinks so. It’s been a month since Miley burst out of a teddy bear at the Video Music Awards and she’s still making headlines. Calling the former Disney starlet’s month-long reinvention plea a “textbook PR campaign,” Elissa Freeman deems the pop star brilliant. Freeman may be right, but hey: maybe she’s just being Miley.

Samsung is making its own Survivor-style web series
Starting this week, seven people well be stranded on an island with nothing but Samsung Galaxy products. The multi-media marketing experiment will include live streaming, taped clips of competitions and social media, as each of the contestants were chosen for their social media savvy. Sounds fun, until we think about watching a stream of seven people playing with their phones.

Kraft is reuniting families on Facebook
A family by any other name would … not get a free box of KD? For two weeks, Kraft is selecting one family name a day and rewarding its Facebook fans with that name with a free box of Kraft Dinner. A rep for the brand said 20,000 coupons are available, but you better hurry if they draw “Smith” next.
