Indigo launches shopping app
Indigo has launched a mobile shopping app that allows shoppers to explore personalized product recommendations, sales and promotions, product reviews and more. Items can also be purchased using the app. The application, developed by Toronto’s BNotions, allows users to sync their existing Plum Rewards or iRewards account to the app, which means they can keep track of their rewards balance or redeem points from their mobile phone.

New app shows harmful ingredients in cosmetics
A group of Toronto developers have created a free, independent app that shows consumers what potentially harmful ingredients are in cosmetics and personal care items such as nail polish and body wash. Scan the bar code and the app connects to a list of ingredients sourced from environmental and health groups. The Canadian Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association (CCTFA) says the app is misleading.

What Dentsu’s acquisition of Aegis means for billings
Acquiring Aegis Group earlier this year has expanded Dentsu into a global player that’s now in more than 100 countries worldwide. A look at some of the other effects the purchase has had on Dentsu, which is on a path to remodel itself into a “next-generation agency network.”
