Wonderful Pistachios enlists Stephen Colbert for Super Bowl spot
Comedian and late night host Stephen Colbert will appear in a Super Bowl ad for Wonderful Pistachio, following in the footsteps of Gangnam Style singer Psy who starred in the brand’s 2013 Super Bowl spot. The ad is part of the brand’s new “Get Crackin’, America” campaign. In photos that accompany the release, Colbert holds a football-shaped pistachio.

When tweets and advertising meet
A recent full-page ad placed by CBS Films in The New York Times has sparked controversy about using tweets in advertising. The ad promoted the new Coen brothers film, Inside Llewyn Davis, and contains a single—albeit modified—tweet from A.O. Scott, one of the paper’s own film critics. Questions are being raised about permission around such use of tweets. Scott wrote to CBS Films stating he’d prefer his tweets not be used in ads.

Consumers spent 41 billion minutes on Wattpad last year
Wattpad posted impressive numbers for 2013, showcasing its young and fast-growing global audience. The self-publishing platform, which hosts stories in more than 30 languages, revealed its users spent 41 billion minutes consuming its content last year. Wattpad also revealed its most popular amongst consumers under 25 that accesses the site primarily via mobile devices, with 85 % of time spent on Wattpad coming via a phone or tablet.
