Open data opens more doors for businesses
The excitement around open data and how public information can be used to create things like helpful databases for consumers keeps growing. A Seattle entrepreneur who snagged more than $6 million in angel investor funding runs a website that matches sets of raw public data. For example, it matches addresses for homes undergoing renovations with photos from homeowners in a searchable database so people can compare their own projects’ cost and concepts to others nearby.

Arizona trolls Chicago with beach vacation OOH
At the height of the polar vortex, the Arizona Office of Tourism uploaded a video reminding the shivering masses how everyone in Arizona is kicking back on the beach in sandals. Created by Off Madison Ave., the billboard extends off the wall and onto the parking lot below, where a mammoth pair of sandals appears to crush two cars.

Ford drivers will soon be able to order Domino’s from their cars
Starting mid-2014, consumers with newer-model Fords will be able to order Domino’s pizza via the AppLink feature in Ford Sync. To complete an order, they will need a “Pizza Profile” within the Domino’s app. In recent years Domino’s has built out a large online business, with 40% of its orders in the U.S. coming via the web.
