Bell Aliant has launched a new print campaign to signal the increased availability of its FibreOP service bundles in New Brunswick.

The telecommunications company first introduced FibreOP technology–which links to individual customers’ homes rather than shared nodes, resulting in faster connection speed–in areas of Fredericton last year.

Earlier this year, Bell Aliant announced plans to expand the reach of its fibre-to-the-home broadband services in New Brunswick. Saint John, Moncton, Bathurst and Miramichi will be included in the $80 million rollout scheduled for completion by mid-2011.

FibreOP bundles, which include home phone service, broadband internet and high-definition television, went on sale in Saint John last week.

To coincide with the launch, Bell Aliant began a print advertising campaign last week with ads featuring the simple tag line, “FibreOP bundles are here.”

Radio and out-of-home advertising will hit the New Brunswick market in the coming days.

The campaign comes on the heels of last year’s effort to educate consumers about the advantages of fibre-to-the-home technology. That initiative included lawn signs that read “FibreOP is coming to this home.”

Meredith Cowan, senior market communications manager at Bell Aliant, said the new creative is designed to capitalize on the consumer interest created by the company’s earlier efforts in support of FibreOP.

“It’s really about announcing that now you can call in and take this service rather than pre-registering and waiting for it,” she said.

Creative was developed by Halifax agency Extreme Group.
