Best Buy enlists Tracy Moore for Mother’s Day PR program

Cityline host providing gift suggestions and blog posts targeted at mom

Best Buy Canada has partnered with TV personality Tracy Moore to promote a number of gift suggestions for moms across the country in the days leading up to Mother’s Day.

Moore, host of lifestyle show Cityline, has selected an assortment of items from BestBuy.ca that may be perfect for moms, including products for travel, fitness, style, beauty and decor as well as baby items, small appliances and wearable tech. She’s also writing twice weekly blog posts for Best Buy’s community page, Plug In. Moore covers a range of topics like “How to get out of the house (kind of) fast and “You’re about to have a baby! Now what?”

Moore’s blogs and product collections will be shared across Best Buy’s social platforms including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, as well as through native advertising.

“We chose Tracy because she is a dynamic personality who, like most women, balances a demanding job and raising young children,” says Danielle Jang, communications manager at Best Buy Canada in Burnaby, B.C. Another plus is that Moore is well-known across the country, Jang says.

For French-language content, Best Buy has chosen Quebec personality Fauve Doucet – a blogger for lecahier.com and a digital media supervisor at OMD Montreal – to write blog posts about the products that she would like to have from Best Buy’s website for Mother’s Day. Doucet’s blogs are being shared on Best Buy’s Quebec social media channels.

“We have worked with personalities in the past that make sense for the brand and it’s something that we’d likely continue to do where it makes sense,” Jang says.

The campaign runs until May 8.
