Paulo Senra has been named director, communications of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He starts April 27.
Senra had been at the Canadian Olympic Committee since 2013, where he was a communications strategist and senior writer. He was responsible for all national and international announcements and events related to the Sochi 2014 Games, Rio 2016 Games and the Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games.
Senra was also active in political communications and speechwriting for Toronto Mayor John Tory’s 2014 campaign, including the writing of Tory’s election night acceptance speech.
He has also been a communications and policy advisor for the minister’s office at both the Ministry of Community and Social Services and Ministry of Health Promotion and Sport in Ontario.
“Paulo will play a leading role in our media relations and storytelling efforts with a specific mandate to help us reach new audiences in new and creative ways,” says Matt Maychak, vice-president communications of the CFL.
