Online community ChickAdvisor is teaming up with Ford and St. Joseph Media‘s magazine Fashion for the first time for its latest ShopCrawl, an evening event that gives participants discounts for retailers along Toronto’s popular Bloor St. shopping district.

This year’s event on Sept. 26 is the sixth of its kind (the last one was held in 2009). Those who purchase a $15 ticket get exclusive discounts at retailers including Nine West, Gap and Banana Republic between 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Attendees will also receive gift bags containing makeup and hair products valued at more than $200. There’s also an after party for fashion lovers who upgrade their ShopCrawl ticket.

Attendees will also be able to buy fall fashions approved by Fashion and ShopCrawl’s editors at selected retailers during the event.

While this is the first event that ChickAdvisor and Fashion have teamed up on, the site and St. Joseph Media have worked together on advertorial initiatives.

Mike Ellis, manager of social media at Ford Canada, said his company was interested in exposing its new 2014 Ford Fiesta to ShopCrawl attendees since the audience matches up well with Ford’s own target: social, young, tech-savvy people that might be looking for their first car. He said these consumers are active people that like to be part of their local scene, whether it be music or going to events like ShopCrawl.

There will be several 2014 Ford Fiestas at the event for attendees to check out. Beyond that, Ellis said there will also likely be a red carpet photo experience that attendees can share online, as well as online contests (the details of which he said are currently being finalized).
