ClutchPR to help drive Turo’s Canadian expansion

Car rental startup forms AOR relationship for media and influencer relations

Sharing economy car rental startup Turo has chosen ClutchPR as its public relations agency of record in Canada.

The agency was selected to represent the San Francisco-based peer-to-peer car rental marketplace after a competitive review process.

ClutchPR was chosen to develop a communications strategy to support Turo’s Canadian launch in the spring and is now handling media relations and an influencer program for the startup. “Our focus is earned media impressions,” says ClutchPR president Daniela Kelloway.

“To be able to work with a startup that’s been so successful and is breaking ground constantly has been really thrilling,” says Kelloway. “Innovation excites me and that’s definitely a direction that we want to go in as an agency. And I think they recognized that. There’s a certain amount of passion I think that you have to put into when you’re pitching for new business and I think they saw that from our team.”

ClutchPR’s “personal touch” set the agency apart, Cedric Mathieu, director of Turo Canada in Toronto said in a statement. “Their strategic and tenacious approach really resonated with us.”

Turo currently operates in 120 cities in Ontario, Alberta and Quebec and is looking to expand nationally.
