CN has, ahem, big balls. The national railway company is giving organizations in the Calgary area the opportunity to sponsor giant golf balls in support of the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation, as part of its Miracle Match program.
For $5,000, each sponsor will receive a four-foot golf ball, sitting on a giant tee, which they can decorate and display to show their support for the cause. The sponsor’s logo will appear on the tee.
CN Miracle Match is a national charitable initiative designed to rally communities across Canada in support of children’s hospitals. CN matches each sponsor donation.
Every year, CN selects a new children’s hospital and beneficiary of the program in the lead up to the CN Canadian Women’s Open summer golf tournament.
The idea of the Miracle Match Ball Tour is to raise awareness for the Women’s Open, the fundraising program, and to build goodwill for each supporting organization, said Maja Ronneberger, leader of consumer engagement for TrojanOne, the agency behind the effort.
Twenty-nine balls were constructed for this initiative, and so far two have been sold, said Ronneberger. Sponsors will receive onsite presence during the tournament as part of the sponsorship package.
According to CN, nearly $2 million has been raised over the last three years.
CN Canadian Women’s Open golf tournament will be held at Priddis Greens Golf and Country Club in Calgary from Aug. 31 to Sept 6.
