Dairy Farmers of Canada (DFC) has hired DDB Public Relations as its new PR agency for marketing and nutrition communications, following an extensive review that began in August 2014.
“DDB PR demonstrated a thorough understanding of our farmers’ values and various challenges, our business and communications needs, and impressed us with their fresh creative thinking and ideas,” said Rosemary MacLellan, director of communications & government relations, Dairy Farmers of Canada, in a release.
“The team’s collaborative approach and experience across agriculture, health & wellness, and food & nutrition will be beneficial as we continue to promote and grow the Canadian dairy market.”
Martine Lévy, managing director, DDB Public Relations, told Marketing the objectives are to enhance DFC’s reputation across Canada and encourage Canadians to consume their daily servings of dairy products.
The agency will develop English PR campaigns to support DFC’s marketing and nutrition initiatives that promote Canadian dairy products and their health benefits. The agency will also support DFC’s various events throughout the year.
The account was previously handled by Merkato (formerly Trillium). In Quebec, PR is handled by Massey Forget Langlois.
DFC is the national policy, lobbying and promotional organization representing Canada’s farmers on approximately 12,000 dairy farms.
