Jean R. Dupre has been named the new chief executive officer of the Canadian Olympic Committee.

Dupre, a native of St-Jovite, Que., will join the COC after spending 15 years as director general of Speed Skating Canada.

He replaces Chris Rudge, who resigned last week.

The COC also announced on Monday Chris Overholt as its new chief operating officer and chief marketing officer. The Toronto native has worked for the Toronto Raptors, Florida Panthers and Miami Dolphins.

“We were looking for two individuals with unique skill sets and a strong passion for sport,” said COC President-Elect, Marcel Aubut, in a statement.

“We have inherited a precious legacy from the 2010 Games, and wanted to ensure that both roles were filled by highly experienced professionals.”
