A Toronto actor known for his portrayal of a loud Scotsman in Alexander Keith’s beer commercials has been sentenced to 20 months in prison on child porn charges.
Former Keith’s pitchman Robert Smith was sentenced in Toronto this morning.
The father of two young children pleaded guilty in May to three child porn charges.
Toronto police first observed him downloading images and videos of children being sexually exploited from a file-sharing website.
Police raided Smith’s home in 2006 and found more than 1,100 child porn files on two computers, along with 14 CDs.
The judge in the case said Smith had a “profound and abiding obsession with child pornography.”
