Loblaw has created a line of specially designed home living items under its Everyday Essentials brand, as part of a three-year fundraising effort in partnership with Habitat for Humanity Canada.

Loblaw banner stores across the country will carry the items starting in early August. The first product to launch is a set of four striped porcelain mugs for $10.

The net proceeds will help support Habitat for Humanity Canada’s 360 Built Smart Partnership that aims to build sustainable housing for Canadian communities based on the following pillars: family outreach and financial education, home ownership and environmental impact, volunteer engagement, local collaboration and partnership, and safety commitment.

In a release, the grocery giant said it will contribute $80,000 a year for the next three years.

“When we heard about the important work that Habitat for Humanity does in addressing the affordable housing crisis in Canada we were very keen to get involved,” said Joseph Mimran of Joseph Mimran & Associates, creative director apparel, home and entertainment for Loblaw Companies Limited, in a release.

In addition to the fundraising products, Mimran said Loblaw teams will also volunteer their time to help Habitat for Humanity Canada build homes across the country.
